A Comical Look at Portable Toilet Etiquette

May 9, 2023 by Kenjan Oduor

A Comical Look at Portable Toilet Etiquette

“Etiquette is like a portable toilet; it’s there when you need it most, but you don’t want to spend too much time in it!” There are unwritten social rules when it comes to using portable toilets. Most people observe these unwritten social rules, but there are always a few of us who don’t seem to get it right. And that’s okay! We are here to help you out. Let’s dive into some portable toilet etiquette.

Don’t Be A Peeping Tom. It’s Not Nice.

Always Wash Your Hands After Using A Portable Toilet

Somehow, you feel this shouldn’t come first. Most guests are always either in a hurry or the event didn’t provide a handwashing station, so they deliberately avoid washing their hands. It shouldn’t matter if you are in a hurry or if there is no handwashing station available. Just do it! Your hands will thank you later.

Stop Hovering Over The Toilet Seat

You know what I’m talking about when you try to avoid your bottoms touching the seat by squatting. Let’s be real here. Hovering over a toilet seat like a superhero is not effective and can actually make things worse for you. So why not just use toilet paper to cover the seat instead. It’s much more hygienic and less stressful for your legs.

Never Leave The Toilet Seat Wet

“If you sprinkle when you tinkle, be a sweetie and wipe the seatie. I never really understood as a girl how one could sprinkle, it all sprayed straight down. ” This is a well-known poem designed to remind us to wipe the seat clean of urine that splashes about when using the toilet. If you don’t want to sit on it, don’t leave it wet.

Flush After You’re Done Using The Portable Toilet

It is important to flush after you have used the toilet, but first! Don’t forget to check if there is enough water in the bowl. Otherwise, you might end up with an unpleasant surprise. Portable toilets, too, have a crappy day; try to avoid being part of their mess.

Don’t Stay Too Long in Portable Toilet

There are quite a number of scenarios that can make us spend eternity in portable toilets. Some are within our control; others are not.

  • Perhaps! The event lacks excitement and is uneventful, and we feel that the portable toilet will give us refuge.
  • The TikTok videos are ‘Tiking and Toking’ you while in the portable toilet. The amusing meme on social media has got you choking with laughter that you can’t help but share it with friends. And now you have forgotten to come out of the portable toilet.
  • For some, they are enjoying respite and avoiding stress.
  • For some, it can be stomach discomfort.

It is important to work on scenarios that are within our control. Let’s be mindful of our fellow event-goers by trying to keep our time in the portable toilet to a minimum.

Observing the few listed Portable Toilet Etiquette above, You can be sure of good time in there

Portable Toilet etiquette can be challenging for many people, especially those with social communication difficulties. They are often learned through observation and experience rather than being taught. Some of the unwritten rules are washing hands after using a portable toilet, stopping to hover over the toilet seat, flushing the portable toilet after use, and not staying to long.

We would love to hear your thoughts and experiences on portable toilet etiquette! Please feel free to share your thoughts and experiences.

Hi Teknik Telekomunikasi. Thank you for taking time to read through my blog post and for your thoughtful question about balancing humour and practical advice in my article. To answer your question, I believe that humour can be effective tool for engaging readers and making content more memorable. However, it’s important not to sacrifice practical advice for the sake of a joke. In my article, I tried to strike a balance between humour and practical advice by using jokes and other humourous elements to illustrate on portable toilet etiquttes like cleanings hands after using them, avoiding hovering on the toilet seat, not leaving them wet and flushing after using them to illustrate my points and make the content more engaging, while still providing readers with the information they need to make informed decisions.
I hope this answers your question. If you have any questions or feedback, please don’t hesitate to reach out. Best regards.
